Environmental Group “Paddles in Protest” Against Enbridge Sandpiper Pipeline

Approximately 20 members of the environmental group “Honor the Earth,” took to the water to protest the 616-mile Sandpiper pipeline.

The group, after congregating with signs near Lake Bemidji, launched a canoe into the lake as a show of objection to the pipeline, which would transport more than 200,000 gallons of crude oil per day from the Dakotas to Wisconsin.

Currently the pipeline is still being vetted by the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
